Musical Enchantment 2011 - The Portland Cello Project

On Saturday evening, March 12, the Salem Youth Symphony Association will again host its annual gala fundraiser - Musical Enchantment.  The evening will feature an encore performance from the Portland Cello Project. This highly acclaimed group is an ensemble of up to 16 cellos that performs nationally and is known for its eclectic repertoire.  As Willamette Week writes, "Highly talented, highly collaborative and highly experimental, the Portland Cello Project is a dream team of instrumentalists."  

The evening will feature a gourmet dessert reception, with musical entertainment provided by students from each of the orchestras, performing a series of pieces prepared for the event, allowing guests to directly experience the music that they are helping support.  The concert by the Portland Cello Project will follow.  

The event will also include the signature raffle baskets prepared by each orchestra and a silent auction.
