Musical Enchantment 2010 - The Portland Cello Project


Friday, March 12 at 6pm
Green Villa Barn, Independence

On Friday evening, March 12, the Salem Youth Symphony Association hosted our biggest fundraising event ever: Musical Enchantment.  The guests enjoyed a fabulous performance by the Portland Cello Project. This highly acclaimed group is an ensemble of up to 16 cellos that performs nationally and is known for its eclectic repertoire.  As Willamette Week writes, "Highly talented, highly collaborative and highly experimental, the Portland Cello Project is a dream team of instrumentalists."  

The evening began with a wine reception with appetizers, followed by a gourmet dinner by Wild Pear Catering.  During dinner musical entertainment was provided by students from the three orchestras with a series of performances developed for the event, allowing guests to directly experience the music that they were helping support.  The concert by the Portland Cello Project followed dinner.
